July 9th, 2023 - There have been inquiries asking if events held on September 19th could be used as part of the Pirate Project. The answer is: The Pirate Project will consist of a list of physical geocache hides that are published on September 19th that have followed the Pirate Project guidelines stated in the above section. Since events do not include a physical container being placed, plus they are archived shortly after being held, events will not be counted as part of the Pirate Project list. That being said, holding an event on September 19th for 'Talk Like a Pirate Day' does sound like a fun idea.
